Lyons Lane’s debut EP You’ll Talk About It! arrives with a sound that feels rooted in another era without getting trapped there. The Michigan five-piece draws from rockabilly, doo-wop and mid-century Americana, then pushes those influences through a sharper alternative-rock lens.
Recorded over two years at Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak with producer Jake Halkey, the EP reflects a band that has clearly taken time to shape its identity. Mark Leo and Thomas “Tomcat” Thompson built their musical partnership around a shared fascination with vintage sounds, eventually expanding the lineup with Darrian Loehne, Matty Stevens and Shane Wheeler. The result is a lively, horn-colored approach with plenty of personality.

The project’s appeal is also tied to Lyons Lane’s knack for storytelling. Songs explore romance, heartbreak, fixation and vanity while maintaining a playful sense of humor. Opening track Don’t Shoot The Messenger sets that tone with an amusing tale of infidelity and an unfortunate bearer of bad news.
After viral attention for their Love Potion No. 9 cover and nearly two million Spotify streams, this EP feels like a natural next step for a band building genuine momentum.
