After more than six years away from releasing music, Glasgow producer CLOBR returns with Ignite the Signal, an EP that reconnects him with the excitement that originally drew him to electronic music.
The release feels energetic without sounding trapped in nostalgia, pairing punchy rhythms and club-ready momentum with an independent, contemporary production style.
The title track benefits from a striking international collaboration with US vocalist Daniel Melody. Beginning as an online connection, the partnership developed into a track built around Melody’s vocals, with CLOBR shaping the arrangement and production in Glasgow. The result has an uplifting quality that feels designed for movement while retaining a personal touch.

Midi Junction takes a deeper route, leaning into house grooves and expressive piano melodies. Its polished yet warm character reveals CLOBR’s affection for sophisticated 1990s dance music and expands the EP’s sonic range.
With decades of DJing, vinyl culture and underground electronic influences behind him, CLOBR approaches this comeback with experience but no sense of complacency. Ignite the Signal feels less like a retrospective and more like the opening statement of an exciting new phase.
