Spinors Unpick the Chains of Love on You Loved the Cage

Spinors explore the complicated aftermath of a breakup on their latest single, You Loved the Cage, blending gritty alternative rock with a thought-provoking narrative that refuses to offer easy answers.

Built around muscular, vintage-inspired guitar riffs, the track moves between weighty, grunge-inflected verses and an infectious, hard-hitting chorus. Its adventurous guitar solo introduces Arabic-inspired scales, adding an unexpected twist to the song’s harmonically ambiguous atmosphere before a climactic finale draws its influences together.

The story follows two people who endure hardship side by side, finding strength in each other while trapped in destructive circumstances. Once freedom becomes possible, however, their paths diverge. What initially sounds like a tale of betrayal gains greater depth through the accompanying video, which reveals how addiction shapes each character’s reality. The result challenges listeners to reconsider who has truly escaped and who remains imprisoned.

Founded in London by Argentine-born singer and guitarist Sergie Code, Spinors pair introspective songwriting with expansive arrangements and a distinctive steampunk visual identity. The single features Nawe on drums and Santi on bass, with mixing and mastering handled by Nico Resnikof at Romaphonic Studios.

Directed by Code, the video reinforces the band’s theatrical aesthetic. You Loved the Cage delivers both muscular rock energy and emotional complexity, rewarding listeners who appreciate music that leaves room for interpretation.
