Vincent van Warmerdam, long revered for his theatrical scores and cult band roots, emerges as a singer-songwriter on his debut solo album, There Is Time.
Blending folk, blues-tinged pop, and poetic lyricism, the record explores time’s elusive power—haunting, driving, and liberating. Vincent’s textured storytelling draws from his life in theatre and film, with lyrics co-written by poet Maria Barnas and fragments borrowed from literary voices like Allen Ginsberg and Dorothy Parker.

His raw, understated vocals and evocative guitar work are supported by an all-star Dutch ensemble, including Cato van Dijck and Theo Sieben. Produced by Danny Gras in the atmospheric space of De Kift, the album carries a lived-in, cinematic quality.
There Is Time feels both personal and expansive—a bold, reflective step from a lifelong composer stepping fully into the frame. Check out the album below.
